Join us for a slideshow presentation by regional photographer Bruce Flaig featuring his exceptional photographs of northwest Minnesota! Following the presentation, there will be a general discussion about nature photography.

The Friends of Rydell and Glacial Ridge Refuges Association will be hosting a Candlelight Ski and Owl Prowl at Rydell National Wildlife Refuge near Erskine, MN from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The timing of this event will coincide with the breeding season of several local owl species, and hopefully clear skies and moderate temperatures! 

The Refuge’s Golden Pond and Church Lake trails will be groomed and lighted for this event where visitors will be able to ski, snowshoe, or walk the trails.

There will be several pairs of adult and child size skis as well as snowshoes available for visitors to use free of charge on a first come, first served basis. The Visitor Center will be open throughout the event for warming up and refreshments courtesy of the Friends of Rydell and Glacial Ridge Refuges Association. If you have questions or want more information, visit our contact page, and send us a message. If on March 7th trail conditions lack snow for skiing or snowshoeing, the event will be changed to a hike. If forecasted temperatures are below zero or wind chills are in the double-digits below zero or the trails are icy, the event will be cancelled.

The FRGRRA Annual Meeting is Wednesday, November 19th, 2025 and begins at 6:30 PM - directly after the November monthly meeting. All members are encouraged to attend and renew their yearly memberships.
